It’s no coincidence that the Tu Lan Adventure Race has been through four successful seasons – and still means more than just a race. All of the participants in the Tu Lan Adventure Race are aware that they are not just participating in an adventurous race for their passions of exploration, but more important are the values they created for the local community.
Back in 2014 Tan Hoa was just a remote village in a deprived region of Central Vietnam, also a majorly flood prone area that suffered natural disasters year after year. Historical floods that shook the country have always been a nightmare for the local people here; they drowned out houses, swept away all the fields, crops and everything that the locals ever owned.
The Tu Lan Adventure Race emerged from the thought, of doing something to help the local people and providing them with facilities to fight and survive against the disasters. Fortunately, Mother Nature has given this region a wonderful natural wonder, a spectacular cave system called Tu Lan, like no other wonder in this world. And it’s also the ideal place to organize this program – Tu Lan Adventure Race.
This is a race that brings together hundereds of people with a common passion for adventure, from all over the country to Tan Hoa village; together they create wonderful social values for the locals by creating job opportunities, building floating houses and minimizing the damage suffered by the locals and their properties.
The Tu Lan Adventure Race has never let the participants down on its diversity and challenging itinerary thoughout the seasons. This year is not an exception. The teams will need to have strong teamwork skills to complete the missions & achieve victory. Participants will be taking part in different activities such as upstream boat racing, trail running, challenging jungle trekking, river cave swimming, rock & mountain climbing in the marvelous world of Tu Lan Cave System with the total racing distance of 42km.
To ensure the quality of the race and the conservation matters, only 10 teams (10 members each team) are allowed to register for the race each year. Participants are required to team up and be ready for the registration day.
